49 Days until Winter arrives, but don’t tell Killington…

 

New England Snow Report November 1, 2013 9:00am

Killington tops the New England Snow Report with reports of high winds and spring-like conditions. With 10 trails and 2 lifts open – it might be worth a 2 hr drive and $49.00 (early season lift ticket price). Like the rest of New England, Killington is planning on a warm Friday – current base temps in the mid 60’s. Saturday will see temps fall and full sun just before clouding in around closing time. On Sunday, several weather services are predicting another snow storm. Winter is Coming!

Woodbury Ski Area in Woodbury, CT makes the New England Snow Report Skeptic List, reporting their opening day as 10/26/13, but telling the real story via webcam (here). Without any firsthand reports and a mountain staff unavailable for comment this morning. Take this early season opening with a grain of salt.

Sunday River makes the New England Snow Report as open for weekend skiing ONLY. However – dubious photos and rumors have been circulating the internet for example. Friendly and helpful, the Sunday River staff was uncertain about the conditions of their trails for the upcoming weekend (11/2 – 11/3). Only time will tell. Equally frustrating, as of 9:00am this morning, the Sunday River Snow Phone has not been updated since last Sunday.
