Thank you for your recent boot purchase!
Here are a few things that you need to know.

-New boots SUCK ! At least the first few days while they break in.

-Our approach to boot fitting is to fit boots on the snugger side. They will feel far more snug than other footwear you may be used to. We do this because we know that they will break in up to a half size in all directions.

-Boots that are too snug are better than boots that are too loose. Snug boots can be made looser, loose boots are more difficult to make snugger.

-The hard outer shell does not stretch but the padding and insulation compresses and they will get looser, we promise.

-If you experience pain, discomfort or numbness during the break in period, find a warm place and loosen them. DO NOT take the boots off. Allow your feet to warm up, and regain feeling, then head back out. DO NOT tighten boots until you are outside. Never over tighten them. No blood flow equals cold feet.

-If that doesn’t work, the footbed can be removed for additional space in the boot. The footbed should be put back in as the boot loosens.

-Bring a couple of different pair of socks with you. Even the slightest difference in thickness can drastically alter the fit of the boots. Do not wear cotton socks, do not wear multiple pairs of socks, and avoid wearing the same socks on the hill that you wore on the drive to the resort.

-If these “on hill” remedies don’t work for you, there are several ways to “customize” the fit back at our store. We will custom fit the boot for you, but recommend making an appointment. Visit zimsport.com, then services, then appointments.

-Our boot fitting service is included in your purchase. We cover you 100% for the first season you own the boots. This includes parts, stretching and all shell and liner customizing.

-After the first season of ownership, we will naturally continue to help you, but there may be a charge for parts, labor and any stretching. The sooner you let us know about the problem, the sooner we can fix it.

-Boots are tricky, we have no way of knowing how they feel on your foot. We can only go off of the feedback you give us during the initial fitting process.

-If we don’t know there is a problem with your fit, we can’t fix it. If you have an issue, please call us, many things can be done to troubleshoot several issues right over the phone.
