I am truly heartbroken and sad to report the passing of my uncle, Horst Hausberger. He was such a huge influence in my life and a major part of the person I am today. He was loved by many, and respected by all who knew him. Tough, but fair I used to say. You always knew right where you stood in his eyes. He worked side by side with my father for 30+ years, working tireless hours, building the business that would give me my break into the ski industry, and that I would later have the opportunity to lead into the next century. 17 years after taking the wheel, I still can’t truly fill his shoes. When people, who hadn’t seen my uncle for a while, would ask me how he was doing, I’d say, “he’s probably going to out live me”. There was always part of me that actually believed it might be true, he was an ironman, a fighter till the end. I will miss him more than words can say. Rest In Peace Uncle.
