In general, I've gotten great advice and a great education on gear (racing and otherwise) over the years at Zimmermans. I have been very happy with their recommendations. Regarding service, specifically, Zimmermans once went WAY out of their way to replace a new, defective, binding that I hadn't even purchased there. They supported the brand so worked with the rep and took care of it. Exceptional Service.
What you want is expertise delivered consistently. Zim's provides this recipe while offering the guidance and answering all of the questions that you have. When people do what they love it is obvious. Give them a try. Ask the questions. My family's and my experience tells us that you will not be disappointed and you will become a customer.
My family has going to Zimmermans pretty much from the day they opened. Which is getting pretty close to 50 years now. They are simply the best in every way. Don't waste your time and money going anywhere else.
Top notch boot fitting services. They have all of the equipment including ovens and vaccuum fit machines to precisely mold boots / shells to your feet, and the experience to know what to do, what's not needed, and the right order to do it in. Stefan was very patient and spent two hours with me getting my new race boots dialed. Top notch service, and a great guy to boot (pun intended).
I just purchased a new board package for my daughter as well as boots and other family gear for the upcoming season. Vinny provided an amazing experience for our whole family. We could not have been happier. On the way home my kids said "We learned more from Vinny than we do at school". Super patient, knowledgeable, friendly….everything a customer would want. I will absolutely recommend Zimmerman's and I sincerely hope Vinny gets the proper credit. He is what makes your store special!
This weekend I had a great experience buying new boots and skis at Zimmermann's. Gerry and Jody were so helpful, patiently explaining many options and spending a long time working with me to fit and mold my boots. They helped with first-hand experience on many products, and we reached a combination of boots and skis that seems to really reach my goals. I went night skiing just an hour after I left the store and had a great time! Thanks again for excellent service and advice, as always. My family and I will continue to return and recommend Zimmermann's!
I used to shop here about 10 years ago because the service Stefan, Horst and Gurt provided was exceptional. But, after moving around, and not needing gear for several years, I hadn't been back. However, I just bought a pair of Full Tilt Seth Morrison boots from Jody and Beau - stellar boot fitters, down to the Intuition Liners! And it was the best possible experience any one could have asked for at a ski shop. There are no pretensions and no arrogance from the guys at the shop as they were helping me and the other customers. This crew knows their gear offerings inside and out, and they know how assist their customers in making an educated decision with 100% confidence. This is a nice break from the norm, where shop workers seem to be arrogant and/or indifferent and uneducated.
This place is run by real professionals, a family with a long history in skiing and service, and a crew that knows how to shred.
You are definitely going to find the best customer service, the best products, and the best prices - better than online.
I've bought numerous things including skis, boots, and accessories through the years. I decided to post a review because of how helpful they were today to one of my friends.
I went skiing at Waterville Valley today and my friend had terrible issues with her new boots. She was totally miserable. So I said lets go to Zimmermans and they will fix you up.
When we got there Stefan (the owner) offered to help her. It took him about a minute to diagnose the boots as not being correctly fit and not worth trying to fix. He then told her to go back to the store she bought them at and ask for her money back. He then started explaining exactly why the boots were wrong for her and gave her 2 models that he said he knew the competitor carried. He said go there and get them to trade them in for the correct ones. He even offered to call someone at the store he knew to help her with the process.
I was beyond impressed and so was she. She decided to just buy the boots from Zimmermans and then work out the deal with the bad boots. She also swears she will know buy all her ski equipment from Zimmermans in the future.
So the moral of the story is buy all ski equipment from Zimmermans! They are not always the cheapest, but the amount of knowledge and honest advice is more than worth the price.
